Customs Broker (Port Moresby)

About the role

Hi-Lift Company is seeking a full‑time Customs Broker to join its Port Moresby team. You will be responsible for preparing and lodging customs documentation, calculating duties and taxes, and ensuring compliance with PNG and international border regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, submit, and monitor customs declarations and related paperwork.
• Calculate duties, taxes, and fees for import and export shipments.
• Coordinate with clients, shipping lines, and government agencies to secure timely clearance.
• Resolve documentation issues and track shipment status.
• Advise customers on customs requirements and regulatory changes.
• Maintain accurate records for audits and reporting.
• Collaborate with operations and warehousing teams to support smooth cargo movement.

Required profile

• Strong experience in customs brokerage, import and export processes.
• Good knowledge of shipping documentation, Incoterms, and clearance procedures.
• Understanding of international trade regulations and tariffs relevant to PNG.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills in English.
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple shipments under tight deadlines.
