Desktop Support Officer

About the role

Air Niugini is looking for a motivated Desktop Support Officer to join its IT Operations team in Port Moresby. You will provide first‑level support to keep employees connected, productive and secure across the airline.

Key responsibilities

• Provide onsite and remote support for hardware, software, networks, email, telephony and business applications.
• Log, prioritise and resolve incidents and service requests using the IT service management system.
• Support Microsoft 365, Teams, VPN, mobile devices and remote‑working technologies.
• Assist with user access management, software installation, onboarding and off‑boarding.
• Maintain IT asset records, documentation and knowledge articles.
• Escalate complex or security‑related issues while ensuring service levels are met.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
• Minimum two years’ experience in a Service Desk, Help Desk or Technical Support role.
• Experience with ITSM/ticketing systems, Microsoft Windows and Microsoft 365.
• Working knowledge of Active Directory, networking fundamentals and endpoint support.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication and organisational skills.
