Human Resources Specialist

About the role

The Human Resources Specialist will manage the full employee lifecycle for on‑site staff in Port Moresby, supporting recruitment, onboarding, performance management and off‑boarding while ensuring compliance with local labour regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Administer HR policies, maintain personnel records and coordinate employee benefits.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, performance reviews and off‑boarding processes.
• Assist managers with workforce planning, employee relations and disciplinary actions.
• Prepare HR documentation, respond to employee inquiries and organise trainings.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of HR processes to enhance operational effectiveness in a high‑risk security environment.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in Human Resources and HR Management with day‑to‑day operational experience.
• Knowledge of HR policies, procedures and local Papua New Guinea labour laws.
• Experience administering employee benefits and handling related documentation.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and conflict‑resolution skills.
• High level of integrity, discretion and respect for confidentiality.
• Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field; HR certifications are a plus.
• Experience in security, logistics or operations‑focused industries is beneficial but not required.

Required skills

• Drafting, implementing and maintaining compliant HR policies.
• Employee benefits administration.
• Familiarity with PNG labour regulations.
• Proficiency with basic office software and HR information systems.
