Team Leader – Industry and Institutions (TVET)

About the role

The Team Leader – Industry and Institutions will provide strategic and operational leadership for the Strongim Wok Long TVET (SWLT) programme in Papua New Guinea. Based in the DHERST office in Port Moresby, the role oversees engagement with higher education institutions, industry‑linked initiatives and institutional‑strengthening activities, supporting the delivery of Outcomes 2, 3 and 4 of the SWLT logic.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate SWLT’s partnership with universities, technical colleges and industry bodies.
• Develop and implement strategies to enhance the quality, relevance and inclusiveness of TVET programmes.
• Provide technical leadership on industry engagement, institutional strengthening and higher‑education collaboration.
• Work closely with the Principal, Stakeholders and Partnerships to ensure alignment across all workstreams.
• Participate in the Core Leadership Team, contributing to senior‑level decision‑making and programme monitoring.
• Manage regular travel to project sites and partner organisations throughout PNG.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in TVET, higher‑education or industry partnership management.
• Strong strategic planning and operational execution skills.
• Excellent stakeholder‑engagement and communication abilities.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment and travel frequently within PNG.
