Quantity Surveyor – Road & Highway Projects

About the role

SMEC is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of road and highway infrastructure projects in Papua New Guinea. You will be responsible for cost estimation, quantity measurement, contract administration and commercial management throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQ) and tender documentation for road and highway works.
• Undertake quantity take‑offs and measurement of civil works, including roads, bridges, drainage systems and related infrastructure.
• Provide commercial and contractual advice to the project team.
• Maintain accurate commercial records and project documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in quantity estimation and detailed cost estimating for road/highway projects, preferably funded by multilateral development banks.
• Strong communication skills in English.
