Associate Director – Resources, Energy & Infrastructure (PNG)

About the role

The Associate Director will lead the coverage of institutional clients across Resources, Energy & Infrastructure in Papua New Guinea, driving sustainable, risk‑adjusted revenue outcomes and strengthening ANZ’s market position.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and grow a portfolio of institutional clients across Resources, Energy & Infrastructure, delivering revenue and performance targets.
• Develop and execute sector‑specific portfolio strategies, identifying growth opportunities and market trends.
• Build and maintain senior executive relationships, positioning ANZ as a trusted strategic partner.
• Originate and deliver complex multi‑product banking solutions across lending, transaction banking and markets.
• Ensure strong credit governance, risk assessment and compliance throughout the portfolio.
• Lead end‑to‑end transaction execution, including structuring, approvals, documentation and implementation.

Required profile

• Deep knowledge of the Papua New Guinea market, key industries and regulatory environment.
• Extensive experience in corporate and institutional banking with a proven track record of originating and structuring complex financing solutions.
• Strong relationship‑management skills, able to engage senior stakeholders and build long‑term partnerships.
• Commercial acumen and credit risk expertise, with sound judgment on risk frameworks and portfolio management.
• Ability to develop and implement client, sector and portfolio strategies that drive sustainable growth.
• Leadership capability, including coaching, mentoring and developing team members.
