Economist Analyst – Transport Infrastructure

About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated Economist Analyst to support economic evaluation, financial analysis, and investment planning for major road and highway infrastructure projects in Papua New Guinea.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct economic analysis for road, highway, bridge and transport infrastructure projects.
• Evaluate project costs, benefits, economic viability and investment priorities.
• Develop economic models to assess project alternatives and investment options.
• Support feasibility studies and detailed design stages through rigorous economic evaluation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional qualification in civil engineering or economics with a focus on transport economics.
• Minimum 5 years of experience conducting economic analysis of transport projects, preferably funded by multilateral development banks.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Open to candidates of any gender.
