Chief Engineer – Tugs & Workboats for LNG Project in PNG

About the role

Easy Skill is recruiting an experienced Chief Engineer to keep a fleet of tugs, workboats and barges operational for a major LNG development in Papua New Guinea. The role is remote‑site focused, requiring self‑sufficiency and technical leadership on board.

Key responsibilities

• Own the engine room and ensure the technical integrity of the vessel.
• Run the planned‑maintenance system and keep medium‑speed diesel engines, hydraulics and deck machinery in reliable condition.
• Diagnose and rectify defects on site with limited shore support while complying with OVID inspection standards.

Required profile

• Valid STCW III/2 or III/3 Engineer Certificate of Competency with current endorsements.
• Minimum 8 years’ experience on tugs, OSVs, crew boats or workboats, including at least 3 years as Chief Engineer.
• Proven ability to work self‑sufficiently at remote sites and maintain medical fitness for rotational deployment.
