Genset / Utility / WWTP Operator

About the role

The Genset/Utility/WWTP Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the HHI genset, reverse osmosis plant, wastewater treatment plant and associated utilities. The role ensures plant performance meets operational objectives while adhering to strict safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor HHI genset, reverse osmosis plant, wastewater treatment plant and auxiliary utilities such as air and nitrogen generators.
• Maintain accurate plant records, log sheets and equipment data sheets.
• Prepare equipment for maintenance according to procedures and permits, and inspect integrity before start‑up.
• Participate in shift turnovers, providing clear written and verbal updates on plant conditions.
• Comply with all safety, environmental, permit‑to‑work and incident‑reporting procedures.
• Coach and mentor team members on refinery operations and safe work practices.
• Perform any additional tasks assigned by the Terminal Supervisor or Operations Manager.

Required profile

• Commitment to personal safety and proactive hazard identification.
• Willingness to follow Puma Energy PNG HSEQ policies and report injuries, hazards or non‑conformances.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
