MERL Coordinator

About the role
The MERL Coordinator will support the Australia Awards PNG programme by coordinating monitoring, evaluation, research and learning activities. Based in Port Moresby, you will ensure data quality, produce evidence‑based reports and contribute to continuous improvement of the programme.
Key responsibilities
- Implement and improve the AAPNG MERL Framework and Plan with a strong GEDSI focus.
- Maintain MERL data systems and coordinate baseline, progress and end‑line surveys.
- Analyse quantitative and qualitative data to create dashboards, case studies and other knowledge products.
- Support research, evaluation and learning activities, including stakeholder engagement and documentation of findings.
- Provide guidance to program teams on MERL tools, indicator monitoring and reporting requirements.
- Contribute to programme delivery, stakeholder relationships and public diplomacy through alumni success stories.
Required profile
- Relevant tertiary qualification; postgraduate MERL or international development degree is highly regarded.
- Demonstrated experience in monitoring, evaluation and reporting, preferably in an international development context.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative data collection, analysis, interpretation and reporting skills.
- Proven ability to produce high‑quality reports, briefing notes, case studies and other knowledge products.
- Excellent organisation, time‑management and attention to detail.
