About the role

Australian Volunteers International is seeking experienced Australian STEM teachers and education specialists to volunteer in Papua New Guinea for the 2027 school year. The role focuses on sharing expertise in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, as well as supporting school governance and curriculum development.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with local educators and community members to enhance STEM teaching practices.
• Support professional development of PNG teachers through mentoring and capacity‑building activities.
• Contribute to curriculum design, education policy development, and sustainable education initiatives.
• Assist in the development of school governance structures and policy frameworks.

Required profile

• Australian citizens with experience in STEM teaching or education specialist roles.
• Retired teachers, career‑break professionals, or individuals motivated to give back.
• Demonstrated experience in curriculum design, education policy, or teacher mentoring.
