Technical Support Officer

About the role

Join a long‑standing bank dedicated to helping Papua New Guineans succeed. As a Technical Support Officer you will provide timely and effective IT support for infrastructure, data communications, networks and data centre management.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialised second‑ and third‑level support and monitor issue resolution.
• Perform first‑ and second‑level problem diagnosis, correction and escalation when needed.
• Undertake problem determination and root‑cause analysis to implement permanent corrective actions.
• Maintain LAN, WAN and VPN connectivity and integrity at all times.
• Install, configure and maintain infrastructure systems, patches and upgrades.
• Evaluate and assist in the design and implementation of infrastructure solutions.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in IT, Computer Science or a recognised industry certification.
• Minimum 2 years experience in a similar IT support role.
• Proven experience with infrastructure management, data centre operations and communications & networks.
• Technical expertise in system design, installation/decommissioning, solutions architecture and emerging‑technology monitoring.
• Proactive, adaptable and able to work under pressure.
• Strong problem‑solving and interpersonal abilities.
