Regional Sales Manager – FMCG (Momase Region)

About the role

The Regional Sales Manager will lead the FMCG business across the Momase region from Lae, Papua New Guinea. Reporting to senior commercial leadership, you will be accountable for sales growth, market penetration and trade execution while managing a direct team of eight and an extended field network of around fifty members.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement regional sales plans to meet volume, revenue and market‑share targets.
• Lead, coach and develop Area Sales Managers, Sales Representatives and support staff.
• Expand distribution, increase outlet coverage and optimise route‑to‑market across the assigned territories.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, wholesalers, retailers and distributors.
• Oversee customer business plans, promotional activities, call cycles and trading agreements within delegated authority.
• Monitor competitor activity, pricing trends and market intelligence.
• Provide accurate forecasting, sales reporting, budgeting and performance analysis.
• Ensure effective execution of trade‑marketing campaigns, product launches and in‑store standards.
• Collaborate with finance and customer teams to manage debtor performance and credit discipline.

Required profile

• 7‑10 years progressive experience in FMCG sales, distribution or commercial management.
• 3‑5 years in a sales leadership or management role with proven results.
• Demonstrated ability to achieve sales, revenue and market‑share objectives.
• Experience managing distributors, wholesalers, retailers, key accounts and field sales teams.
• Strong commercial judgement and ability to operate across geographically dispersed markets.
