Associate Director – Resources, Energy & Infrastructure (PNG)

About the role

ANZ is seeking an Associate Director to lead the Resources, Energy & Infrastructure portfolio in Papua New Guinea, delivering sustainable, risk‑adjusted revenue and strengthening client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and grow a portfolio of institutional clients across Resources, Energy & Infrastructure, delivering revenue and performance targets.
• Develop and execute portfolio strategies, identifying sector‑specific growth opportunities and market trends.
• Build and maintain senior executive relationships, positioning ANZ as a trusted strategic partner.
• Originate and deliver complex multi‑product banking solutions across lending, transaction banking and markets.
• Ensure strong credit governance, risk assessment and compliance throughout the portfolio.

Required profile

• Deep knowledge of the Papua New Guinea market, its key industries, regulatory framework and macro‑economic drivers.
• Extensive experience in corporate and institutional banking with proven relationship‑management skills at senior level.
• Track record of originating, structuring and delivering complex financing solutions.
• Strong commercial acumen and credit risk expertise, able to assess and manage portfolio risks.
• Leadership capability including coaching, mentoring and developing team members.
