Advanced Paramedic - Papua New Guinea

About the role

St John Ambulance PNG is recruiting experienced and adaptable Advanced Paramedics to support Australian personnel deployed to Papua New Guinea while helping develop local ambulance services. You will deliver advanced pre-hospital care in remote, resource-limited settings alongside local ambulance officers and clinicians, in a 24/7 on-call environment. Deployment locations may include Lae, Kokopo, Mt Hagen or Port Moresby. Relocation is provided for the duration of the contract.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver advanced pre-hospital care in remote and operational environments
• Provide medical support to Australian personnel deployed in PNG
• Work with local ambulance officers and healthcare teams
• Support clinical leadership, mentorship and capacity-building initiatives
• Operate independently in a challenging international setting

Required profile

• Current AHPRA registration as a Paramedic
• At least 3 years' experience with a CAA-registered service within the last 5 years
• Ability to work autonomously in complex environments
• Adaptable and resilient in remote or resource-limited settings, comfortable on-call
• Interest in mentoring and supporting local staff
