Procurement and Contracts Specialist – STA

About the role

The Australia‑PNG Law and Justice Partnership (APLJ) is seeking a short‑term Procurement and Contracts Specialist to support a review and refresh of its Preferred Supplier List. Working remotely, the specialist will guide methodology, assess current supplier arrangements and help establish contractual frameworks for commonly procured goods and services.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the review of existing supplier arrangements and identify priority procurement categories.
• Develop a fit‑for‑purpose Preferred Supplier List (PSL) and support the establishment of appropriate contracts with selected suppliers.
• Provide strategic oversight, quality assurance and practical hands‑on support throughout the procurement process.
• Ensure compliance with Commonwealth Procurement Rules and value‑for‑money principles.

Required profile

• Approximately 10 years of relevant procurement and contracts experience.
• Experience establishing supplier panels, framework agreements or standing offers, preferably in Papua New Guinea or similar environments.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple procurement activities independently and deliver outcomes within short timeframes.
