Senior Procurement Supervisor – APSP

About the role

The Senior Procurement Supervisor will lead the day‑to‑day minor procurement activities for the Australia‑PNG Subnational Program (APSP) and other PNG programmes. Based in Port Moresby, the role reports to the Senior Grants and Procurement Manager and works within a shared services procurement team.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all minor procurement activities in line with Commonwealth Procurement Rules and Abt’s policies.
• Review and assign tickets in the procurement ticketing system, ensuring timely processing to meet KPIs.
• Oversee the minor procurement team, checking work for accuracy, resolving issues, and providing on‑the‑job training.
• Monitor open purchase orders and ensure supplier invoices are processed promptly in Netsuite.
• Track processing times, monthly recurring costs and communicate any timing impacts to requestors.
• Maintain positive relationships with internal stakeholders, senior management and external suppliers.
• Support major procurement colleagues as needed and lead continuous improvement of service quality.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in general procurement with a strong focus on value for money.
• Strong knowledge of procurement procedures, compliance requirements and online procurement tools.
• Excellent team management and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Strong analytical, organisational, coordination and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a shared services team.
